John Astrab ’76
John Astrab goes by many titles. One is shared with those of his beloved home. He is a proud graduate of St. Peter’s Boys High School.
Astrab ‘76 is the former president, CEO and founding member of Mission Search, a healthcare staffing company. With over 25 years of expertise in consulting and recruiting, he built a reputation for developing lasting client relationships, nurturing top talent and building high-performing teams that expanded the organization’s footprint nationwide.
Before founding Mission Search, he served as a division resident and partner at Kforce, a staffing organization. He launched and oversaw several new divisions and managed operations across the U.S.
Astrab’s connection to St. Peter’s is personal and profound—his father’s encouragement of attendance laid the foundation for his success. Despite early health challenges, St. Peter’s instilled in him discipline, motivation and perseverance, particularly through his participation in the track team. These core values have driven his professional achievements and personal life.
This Golden Eagle met his wife, Rose, while both were students at St. John’s University. Together, they’ve raised two sons—one in banking and the other serving as a Catholic priest in the Diocese of St. Petersburg, Florida. Outside of his career, he is a passionate drag racer, owning an impressive collection of 40 cars.
St. Peter’s holds a special place in his heart as it has shaped both his character and success in life.
His generosity and support of his alma mater extends back more than twenty-five years.
